As reported by the local residents, the SAC forces are patrolling around Hpakant town and interrogating the pedestrians since August 14th, when the KIA/KPDF joint forces and SAC’s No (12) Infantry Battalion camps which are stationed in Taw Maw and Hla Maung villages, Hpakant Town, Kachin State.
It is stated that the KIA/KPDF joint forces waited and interception attacked the SAC forces who were stationed at Shan Ethnic Monastery in Seng Tawng Ward with bobby trap bomb approximately at 3:30 in the evening of 14th August.
The concern of the local residents has arisen due to the arbitrary arrests and interrogating of the SAC forces on the pedestrians, when the SAC forces stationed at the San Chyoi Monastery were reinforcing to Maw Mone and Hpa Pyin where the armed-clashes are taken places at 10 AM on August 15th.
It is said that the SAC forces are not only interrogating the pedestrians in almost all checkpoints, they are also getting into the villages and extorting money from the civilians within these days.
In addition, the SAC’s No (33) Battalion and No (12) Infantry Battalion were seized by the No (9) KIA Brigade joint forces in August 15th.
The KIA/KPDF joint forces launched offensive attack on the SAC’s Hla Maung and Taw Maw military camps in Hpakant approximately at 3:00 AM in August 14th, and they have seized the Hla Maung military camp approximately at 9:00 AM yesterday morning and the Taw Maw military camp approximately at 4:00 PM in the evening.
