It has been reported that a Shan-ni Militia column entered Hopin Town in Mohnyin Township and was subsequently bombarded by a drone operated by the Hopin People’s Defense Force (KPDF) at approximately 10:00 AM on March 20.
According to a local resident, the KPDF drone targeted a militia column consisting of approximately 50 individuals as it entered Nant Yin Village in Hopin. The attack resulted in the death of two militia members and injuries to three others.
The local resident from Nant Yin Village in Hopin Town stated that "The Hopin KPDF received information about the militia column approaching from Hopin Myo Oo Pagoda and decided to intercept the attack. The KPDF employed a drone to carry out the bombardment, resulting in the aforementioned casualties."
It is important to note that since the end of February, the SAC and joint militia forces have engaged in destructive activities in the area. They have destroyed the Hopin Nant Yin Bridge and created potholes using an excavator. Additionally, they have indiscriminately fired heavy weapons and small arms in the village, resulting in injuries and fatalities among civilians.
Furthermore, the SAC and joint Militia forces have been actively recruiting local youths and providing them with military training, as reported by local residents.
