High School Students in Kachin, Sagaing, Mandalay, and Nay Pyi Taw to Retake Matriculation Examinations

The State Administration Council has announced that high school students from Mandalay, Sagaing, Nay Pyi Taw, and Kachin State whose examination answer sheets were destroyed in the March 28 earthquake must retake their tests on June 16.
Students eligible to retake the exams may collect their examination permits from respective examination offices between June 1 and June 15.
The powerful earthquake on March 28 caused a fire at Mandalay University's main dormitory, destroying answer sheets. Among the damaged materials were answer sheets from 8,699 students in Kachin State, along with those from over 60,000 students across Sagaing and Mandalay Regions.
The State Administration Council reported that the earthquake resulted in the loss of nearly 400,000 matriculation examination answer sheets from 62,954 students in Mandalay, Sagaing, Nay Pyi Taw, and Kachin State, which had been stored at Mandalay University's main dormitory for grading.
