Military operations of both armed forces along the Myitkyina-Sumprabum highway continue to be characterized by heightened tension. Reports indicate that the SAC forces are engaged in the excavation of trenches and are carrying out military activities within the premises of the Tang Hpre Christian church compound, located near Myitsone, just north of Myitkyina.

“They have resided here for an extended period. Their residence is within the church compound. They forced the lock on the door to gain entry. The individuals residing in the church compound are not subordinate soldiers; rather, they are reported to be high-ranking officials,” according to a local resident.

Local residents estimate that approximately 1,000 SAC troops are present in Tang Hpre village. These forces are reportedly positioned in the adjacent forest and mountainous areas, including the vicinity of the church, as they prepare for an impending skirmish.

The SAC has been progressing along the highway towards Sumprabum since the early hours of February 3. Furthermore, there have been numerous clashes between the advancing SAC forces positioned above Myitsone and the KIA forces.

The SAC forces were deployed in Tang Hpre village, and there were ongoing armed confrontations in the vicinity of the village until February 15.

On February 12, the KIA launched a drone strike against the SAC's military camp located in Wai Shi village, situated above Tang Hpre village.

The SAC forces positioned in Tang Hpre village obstructed the route and launched an assault on the northern section of Wai Shi village using heavy artillery.
