According to local residents, the people of Myaw Maw Pa Village and Zan Naung Village in Chiphwi Township, affected by the flood, are struggling with accommodation and basic food needs and are in desperate need of assistance.
On the early morning of May 29th, heavy rain caused a flood, washing away 10 houses and damaging over 30 others.
The rising creek led to nearly the entire village being flooded, sweeping away homes, barns, stored food, and collected clothes.
Currently, the flood-affected residents are living in huts, under plastic shelter sheets, or with close relatives and in churches. Locals report an urgent need for essential supplies such as food, clothing, and shelter.
Those affected by the flood are hoping for as much help as possible from individuals and organizations.
Myaw Maw Pa Village, which was flooded, has nearly 300 residents and 80 houses. Additionally, locals report that 9 houses in Zan Naung Village were also destroyed by the flood.
