A fire incident was reported to have occurred due to an electrical issue and resulted in the burning of two residential houses on March 25th at approximately 19:00 hours in Thein Inn Ward, Mohnyin Town, Kachin State.
“The fire commenced at 7:00 in the evening. The incident occurred in proximity to Mohnyin Park, situated in Thein Inn Ward, which is relatively distant from the city center. Prior to the arrival of the fire engine, the house adjacent to the initial burning house had also caught fire,” stated a local resident of Thein Inn Ward.
The fire persisted for approximately one hour and was successfully extinguished at around 8:00 PM.
“Upon the arrival of the fire engine, the neighboring house was already engulfed in flames. Fortunately, the fire was contained and did not spread to other nearby houses due to the timely intervention of the firefighters. The houses in that particular ward are situated in close proximity to each other. Therefore, if the fire had not been extinguished promptly, it could have potentially caused significant damage due to the prevailing wind conditions. According to local residents, the fire incident is believed to have been caused by an electrical issue,” as reported by the resident.
As per the local resident’s account, two fire engines of varying sizes arrived and successfully extinguished the fire at approximately 8:00 PM. It is noteworthy that the vicinity of the affected residence houses several car repair shops, making it an area with a significant concentration of fuel. Regrettably, the precise extent of the damages incurred as a result of this incident remains undetermined at this time, as stated by a local source.
