It is reported that on April 11, four young gold miners in the gold mining area of N-HkaGa were poisoned after eating mushrooms, two died and two were in serious condition.
“All four were young men. They accidentally ate poisonous mushrooms yesterday. Two of the four died, and two are in serious condition. All four were gold miners. They get poisoned accidentally by eating normally growing mushrooms and poisonous mushrooms,” said a relative of one of the deceased.
It is known that one of the young gold miners who was accidentally poisoned by eating mushrooms from the N-HkaGa gold blocks is from LungShaYang village, Putao Township and one is from Tanai. In addition, they are said to be under 20 years old.
Another local resident described the condition of the two young men in critical condition as follows.
“Now, both of the other two are in serious condition. Residents are trying to send them to the hospital quickly but all marina are closed, so it is impossible to sent them quickly. They are trying to send them by land routes. And it is a very dangerous situation,” he said.
Residents in Putao township said that every year some poisoning cases died from eating mushrooms that grew in early April. Therefore, the mushroom growing during this time is very dangerous, the locals said.
In previous years, there were cases where a family died after eating the mushrooms that bloomed this season.
