Decomposed Remains of Two Women Discovered Near Lwe Kham Mountain in Mohnyin

Residents of Mohnyin Township stumbled upon the badly decomposed bodies of two young women in a forested area near Lwe Kham Mountain, close to Maw Han village, on March 28.

The grim discovery was made after motorists passing through the area noticed a strong stench and alerted local authorities, who later uncovered the remains.

At the scene, investigators recovered a parked motorcycle with its key still in the ignition, along with 5 million kyats in cash. The victims were also adorned with gold chains and various pieces of jewelry, prompting speculation among villagers that theft was not the primary motive behind the killings.

Forensic estimates suggest the women had been dead for roughly three days before being found. As their identities remain unconfirmed, officials are treating the case as unidentified deaths while continuing their probe.
