Laiza Youth Raise Donations for Earthquake and War-Affected Victims

Pajau MediaYouth in Laiza, a town near the Chinese border, are organizing fundraising events through musical performances to aid both war-displaced and earthquake-affected communities, a local youth representative said.

The initiative was launched to support victims of the powerful earthquake that struck southern Myanmar on March 28, as well as internally displaced persons (IDPs) fleeing conflict in Kachin State. Young volunteers in Laiza have joined forces to collect donations for relief efforts.

The fundraising campaign began on the evening of April 2, with youths singing at night market areas to gather contributions. The duration of the campaign will depend on the situation, organizers stated.
