Numerous soldiers, among them Colonel Aung Chan Nyein, the strategic commander of the military council, have reportedly been killed, while others have been taken captive during the skirmishes that led to the capture of Bhamo and Mansi by the Kachin Independence Army and its allied forces.
The KIA and allied forces have successfully seized both major and minor military bases belonging to the SAC, which includes the 319th Infantry Battalion located in Mansi township. Concurrently, they launched assaults on the 319th Infantry Battalion, the 601st Infantry Battalion, and the 523rd Artillery Battalion of the SAC, also situated in Mansi township.
A military insider has reported that the State Administration Council (SAC) is delivering food and reinforcements via air to safeguard the city of Bhamo from potential capture. Although skirmishes continue, it has been noted that significant SAC military installations have been seized in Mansi.
Numerous casualties have been reported on the SAC side, as well as among the KIA and joint forces, during the capture of Bhamo and Mansi by the KIA and joint forces.
