Bus Transportation Is Operating As Public Transport In Laiza Town, The Head Quarter Of Kachin Independent Organization (KIO)

It is reported that bus is operating as public transport from Laiza Town, the head quarter of KIO/KIA, to the area along Gara Yang village, Myo Thit Kone Law village, Daw Hpum Yang village and Gan Dau Yang village since September 2nd. The buses are operating the motive under gaining better transportation with a fair price.


The main bus station in Laiza Town is settled near the MungLai Creek and the bus fare from Laiza to Daw Hpum Yang costs 2,500 kyats, Laiza to Myo Thit Kone Law costs 5,000 kyats, Laiza to Gan Dau Yang costs 2,500 kyats and Laiza to Gara Yang costs 5,000 kyats per passenger. In addition, the prices of the goods transport are set as depends, for instance rice, paddies, chickpeas, onions and garlics costs 2,000 kyats per woven sack and 25-liter of cooking oil can costs 1,000 kyats.


Moreover, the departure time of the bus is set at 7:00 AM in the morning and it has started departing from Laiza to Gara Yang village and at 1:00 PM in the afternoon the bus has started to operate along Daw Hpum Yang village. Additionally, it is also known that the bus is going to operate in the limited time, even though there isn’t any passenger and the buses are prepared to operate from Laiza to Mai Ja Yang in the following year.


As stated by the relevant official from the Laiza town, the main reason of operating bus in the Laiza town under the KIO government directive is to gain better transportation with a fair price for the locals.
