In August 2024, Kachin State saw up to 35 armed clashes between the SAC and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA).
Across various states and regions, there were 106 armed clashes between the SAC and anti-coup forces. Nationwide, the highest number of confrontations occurred between the SAC and the KIA, as well as the Arakan Army (AA/ULA), with each side engaging in 35 clashes.
As a result of these conflicts, over four civilians were injured in Kachin State, while 223 were injured and 259 killed across the country during August.
According to BNI-Myanmar Peace Monitor, the clashes displaced 500 people in Kachin State, 52,200 in Sagaing Region, 10,000 in Rakhine State, 5,000 in Bago Region, 4,400 in Tanintharyi, 2,000 in Karen State, and 5,000 in Shan State within August.
