It has come to light that the SAC No (105) Battalion has been conducting interrogations and making arrests of local residents within their homes, as well as pedestrians, around 1:00 PM in Sar Maw Town, Mogaung Township, Kachin State.
According to a local resident, "This afternoon, the ward administrator, named U Than Aung Kyi from Sar Maw Ward (2), was apprehended by an unknown group. Upon learning of the administrator's arrest, the SAC forces began entering residential homes in the neighborhood, threatening and arresting men. Furthermore, they began apprehending all men passing by on the streets," he stated.
Furthermore, at approximately 5:00 PM, over 30 male members of the Independence Church Home Mission (ICM church), who were in the midst of preparing for a Bridal Shower ceremony scheduled for the following day, were apprehended by more than 10 SAC personnel. They were subsequently restrained, gathered, and assembled at the church premises.
"The church members were busily preparing for a bridal shower ceremony scheduled for tomorrow when the SAC personnel, in full uniform, entered the church compound. They proceeded to apprehend over 30 men who were in the vicinity, restraining them and assembling them in the church yard. Furthermore, the SACs stated that they would only release the detainees upon discovering who was responsible for the arrest of the Ward administrator," clarified the aforementioned resident.
In addition to the arbitrary arrests of civilians by the SAC's No (105) battalion in the neighborhoods of Sar Maw Town, it has been reported that the SAC forces from Sar Maw Town are currently engaged in continuous heavy weapon fire towards the South-east Mountain of Sar Maw.
