A clash between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the SAC forces near Kyauk Sa Hkan Village in Momauk Town resulted in continuous heavy artillery fire from SAC's No. 437 battalion towards the villages of Kyauk Sa Hkan, Kwat Thit, and OutChyait. Consequently, reports indicate that an old woman and a child from OutChyait Village sustained injuries due to the heavy artillery shells fired by the SAC.
According to a local resident from Out Chyait Village, "Yesterday, a Y-12 aircraft circled the village three times. Once at 12:00 PM, then at 3:00 PM, and again at 7:00 PM. Since it was a Y-12 aircraft, the sound of bombs being dropped was barely audible. The bombs fell silently and only exploded upon impact, which was terrifying. The bombs were dropped from LungJaBum Village, the foot of LungJaBum mountain, all the way to NarLung Village. On one occasion, they dropped at least six bombs simultaneously."
It is reported that the injured old woman and child suffered leg injuries. However, due to heightened armed tensions between the two forces in Momauk Town, it is challenging to transport them to the hospital from Bhamo.
Consequently, most residents of HkaNan Ward in Momauk Town are fleeing to villages such as 15 Miles and 17 Miles, while some are seeking refuge in farm areas. Only a handful of individuals engaged in livestock farming, including pig and hen rearing, remain in the village.
Explaining the decision to stay in the village, a resident stated, "Almost everyone has fled the village, leaving only about one-fifth of the population behind. My family raises over a thousand chickens, so we cannot abandon them. Moreover, there are no buyers in the village, and transporting them to Bhamo is not feasible due to the ongoing clashes. Thus, staying in the village was the only viable option."
Additionally, SAC's No. 437 Battalion continues to heavily bombard areas in Momauk Township and conduct airstrikes using Y-12 aircraft.
