Local residents report that all KIO schools presently managed by KIO in the Momauk region have been indefinitely closed due to ongoing shelling by SAC forces in territories held by KIA joint forces.

On November 15th, it has been reported that nine individuals, including seven children, lost their lives, and approximately 30 others sustained injuries as a result of aerial bombardments carried out by the SAC in the Kone Law region of Momauk Town. Subsequently, all educational institutions governed by the KIO have been closed indefinitely. A teacher and a student from Nam Tin Village Primary School were among the casualties resulting from the aerial bombardment conducted by the SAC.

Due to this incident, the parents of the students compelled their children to refrain from attending school, resulting in the closure of the institution. Local residents reported that they were informed about a potential reopening of the schools in early December; however, there remains uncertainty regarding whether the schools will indeed be able to resume operations at that time.

The schools that are presently prohibited include those in Myo Thit Kone Law, Man Naung, Si Hap, Num Lang, and Nam Ting villages, all of which have been under the occupation and control of the KIA joint forces since March 7th.

The SAC has persistently targeted the region under the control of the KIA joint forces. In addition to the military operations conducted by the SAC stationed in Bhamo, which bases between Bhamo and Momauk, the two-armed factions have been engaged in conflict for nearly three months.
