The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and its allied forces successfully seized all remaining positions held by the State Administration Council (SAC) in Mansi following an offensive that extended over a month, culminating at approximately 11 a.m. on January 8.

The KIA joint forces have successfully taken control of the SAC's No (319, 601) Infantry Battalion and Artillery Corps No (352) located in the Mansi region, resulting in the complete clearance of SAC troops from the entire Mansi township.

The KIO has also verified the seizure of the last three military bases belonging to the SAC in Mansi. With the exception of these three garrisons, the other military installations were assaulted by the KIA and allied forces in 2023, ultimately coming under control in 2024.

Since December 4, 2024, KIA joint forces have launched simultaneous assaults on the Bhamo and Mansi regions, culminating in the complete capture of Mansi town on January 8th. Ongoing skirmishes continue in the Bhamo region, where efforts to clear out fleeing SAC members are still in progress.

Furthermore, the area of the KIA (9th) Brigade, known as Selzin, is currently witnessing severe armed confrontations between the joint forces of the KIA and the SAC forces, as reported by sources on the front lines.
