AAPP Has Reported That 230 Women Have Lost Their Lives As A Result Of Heavy Artillery Fire Over The Course Of Ten Months

The AAPP has reported that between January 1st and October 16th of this year, 230 women lost their lives as a result of heavy artillery fired by the SAC during the conflict between the ethnic anti coup armed-forces and the SAC forces.


There are 30 females under the age of 18 among the females who were killed by the heavy artillery. The Sagaing Region and Rakhine State report the highest incidence of female fatalities. The Sagaing region reports the highest death toll, totaling 64 fatalities. Following this, Rakhine State ranks as the second most affected area, with 46 deaths.


The SAC forces are reported to have conducted indiscriminate heavy artillery shelling and aerial bombardments in regions inhabited by anti-coup armed forces and the People's Defense Forces (PDF), leading to the fatalities of unarmed innocent civilians.


As reported in the AAPP release dated October 16, following the military coup d'état, a total of 1,236 women were included in the 5,851 civilians who lost their lives due to heavy weaponry.
