The Kachin Women's Affairs Federation is reportedly spearheading the distribution of pamphlets and the organization of white ribbon campaign activities in Laiza, an area under the control of the Kachin Independence Army/Kachin Independence Organization, on November 25th, in observance of the "Day to Stop Violence Against Women."

In observance of the Day to Stop Violence Against Women and Southeast Asian Women's Day on November 30, the Kachin Women’s Affairs Federation organized a white ribbon campaign and distributed pamphlets in Laiza. Furthermore, the Federation conducted an awareness training session by walking along the main road, where they distributed pamphlets to passersby.

Over 100 women in Laiza participated in the campaign. Furthermore, it was reported that these activities have been conducted annually in previous years.

Every year, from November 25th to December 10th, a global initiative takes place, consisting of 16 days dedicated to raising awareness about non-violence against women.

Approximately one in three women globally endure physical and sexual violence. In Myanmar specifically, data from the Myanmar Life and Health Basic Data Survey indicates that at least one in five married women have faced physical, sexual, or psychological violence from their intimate partners.

The theme for the 2024 edition of the 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based Violence is "Collaboratively striving to eliminate violence against women and girls without justification."
